TEAM PARENT MEETING - The Team Parent meeting is where you will receive all the information you need to pass onto the coaches and parents. We will go over your role and answer any questions you have.
SNACK SCHEDULE - Assign a player's family to be in charge of the post-game snack for that day. The players look forward to these post-game refreshments and appreciate them after working hard during their game. You would need to coordinate with the parents about any food allergies of any players.
COMMUNICATION TO PARENTS - As soon as you confirm your role as Team Parent, send out communication to your player's families introducing yourself as "Team Parent". It is your role to keep the families up to date on any new or changing information. Team Parents have used apps such as TeamSnap and GameChanger to communicate through their chats. These apps are easy to use and have free versions to download.
SCORE KEEPER & PITCH COUNT - You will organize and coordinate with the player's families and assign who will be keeping score (Home games) or keep pitch count (Away games).
TEAM BANNER - You will need to collect donations to either make or order a team banner.
TEAM PARTY - (Optional) Talk with the parents and come up with a simple plan to have your End of the Season party. There are multiple local pizza locations that are willing to accommodate the team by calling ahead of time. The kids love being able to hang out off the field and it's a great time for the parents to show their appreciation to the coaches who volunteered their time for our kids.
How do I become a Team Parent?
Sign up under the "Volunteer" Tab when you register your player. After you complete your volunteer registration, you will be contacted by JDP via email to complete your background check. You will then be reached out to by one of our Board Members to give you more information regarding the Team Parent role.
